Environmental Policy

The Cartridge People Ltd recognises that it has a responsibility to the environment beyond legal and regulatory requirements.
Mission Statement
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and continually improving our environmental performance as an integral part of our business strategy and operating methods, with regular review points.We will encourage customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to do the same.
Responsibility
Our Director has a responsibility for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented, however all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of this policy are met.

Products/Services
Every year in the UK alone, over 40 million inkjet cartridges are discarded and end up in landfill sites. Some of the plastics used to manufacture cartridges can take up to 1,000 years to decompose. We are committed to reducing this impact in the following ways:Promoting the sale of our Own Brand range of cartridges, many of which contain recycled and remanufactured materials Actively encouraging customers to recycle their empty cartridges by sending out recycle bags and reminders to recycle via email Promoting and incentivising the recycling of empty cartridges via businesses, school and charities Working with delivery partners who are maximising the use of renewable energy for their delivery fleets Working only with those suppliers demonstrating a similar environmental policy to ourselves
Energy and Water
We will seek to: Reduce, as much as possible, the amount of energy we use Switch off lights and electrical equipment when not in use Adjust heating to conserve energy Take energy consumption into consideration when purchasing new equipment.
Maintenance and cleaning
We will Ensure that cleaning materials and any materials used in office refurbishment are as environmentally friendly as possible. Only use licensed and appropriate organisations to dispose of waste.
Paper/Packaging
We will Minimise the use of paper in our workplace Reduce packaging as much as possible Seek to purchase recycled and recyclable products where possible Re-use and recycle paper and cardboard products where possible.
Culture
We will Involve staff in the implementation of this policy, for greater commitment and improved performance. Actively encourage all staff to recycle their rubbish. Provide key staff with relevant environmental training. Work with suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors to improve their environmental performance. Use local labour and materials where available to reduce CO2 and help the community.
Monitoring and improvement
We will Continue to monitor and update our environmental practices regularly to ensure an on-going improvement in our environmental impact. Review this policy and any related business issues regularly
